Privacy & your data

Every Stackify user can download their own data or delete their account without contacting an admin. Open Privacy from the user menu (click your avatar in the top-right corner) to get to both.

Download my data

Exports your account profile, any comments and notes you've authored, and your recent activity — across every workspace you belong to — as a single JSON file.

  1. Click your avatar → Privacy.
  2. Click Prepare my data.
  3. Once it's ready, click Download JSON.

The export includes:

  • Your membership details (email, display name, role, join date) for each workspace you belong to
  • Your API keys' metadata (name, creation date, last used) — not the key material itself
  • Comments and notes you've personally authored, up to the most recent 500 of each
  • Your most recent 1,000 audit log entries, across all your workspaces

This is your own account and authored content — not a dump of every record you can merely view in a workspace. Records you can access but didn't create belong to the workspace, not to you individually, and aren't included.

Delete my account

Anonymizes your profile in every workspace you belong to and signs you out. This cannot be undone.

  1. Click your avatar → Privacy.
  2. Under Delete my account, type the confirmation phrase shown on screen.
  3. Click Delete my account.

What happens:

  • Your email and display name are replaced with an anonymized placeholder in every workspace membership.
  • Any active API keys you own are revoked immediately.
  • You're signed out.

What's preserved: comments and notes you authored stay visible to your former workspace collaborators, but are no longer attributed to you by name. This mirrors how the audit trail already works — the record of what happened is kept, but it's no longer tied to an identifiable person.

Sole workspace owners

If you're the only owner of a workspace, you can't delete your account until you transfer ownership to someone else or delete the workspace itself. Otherwise the workspace would be left with no owner.

Requesting data on someone else's behalf

Workspace admins don't have a separate "export this user's data" tool — the self-service export above is scoped to the calling user by design. If you need to remove an entire workspace, see the workspace deletion option in Settings instead, which is a separate, admin-only action distinct from an individual's account deletion.
